Fall inquest date set for electrocution death of London worker

LONDON, Ont. – More than four years after the death of 21-year-old Jeremy Bowley on a worksite near Watford, Ont., the provincial Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services has set a date for the start of an inquest into the fatality. Dr. Rick Mann, the regional supervising coroner for Ontario’s west region, announced the inquest on Aug. 21, according to a news release from the Ministry. The inquest is scheduled to begin on Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. and expected to last for five days at the Best Western Stoneridge Inn in London. Bowley, an employee of Signature Events Rental Centre, was electrocuted while helping to put up a wedding tent on the evening of Aug. 1, 2013; a tent pole contacted a power line, killing him and seriously injuring three other workers (COHSN, Aug. 12, 2013.) About 18 witnesses are expected to give testimony to inquest coroner Dr. Tom Wilson and his counsel, Noelle Brady, the release stated.
