Police seek knife-wielding perpetrators of drugstore robbery

GRIMSBY, Ont. – Following an evening robbery at a Guardian drugstore on Oct. 29, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) has asked for the public’s help in identifying the two perpetrators. A Nov. 3 press release from the NRPS stated that two males had entered the store at about 7:30 p.m. on the earlier date, one of them armed with a large knife. The armed man, who was wearing a red sweatshirt, black pants and a baseball cap, initially demanded drugs at the pharmacy, but did not receive any; both men then robbed the store of an unspecified sum of cash and fled, police said. There were no known injuries in the incident. The NRPS has described the first man as having a slender build, and the second was reportedly wearing a grey sweatshirt under a dark overcoat during the robbery. Both men were wearing gloves and bandannas covering their faces as well, police added. The NRPS posted a security photo of the wanted men in the release, which requested that anyone with helpful information should call the detective pursuing the case or report through Crime Stoppers of Niagara.
