GoFundMe page created to help family of work accident victim

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – A fundraising web page with a goal of $10,000 has been set up on GoFundMe.com to assist the family of Jesse Jessop, who died in a workplace accident on June 2. The page, created on June 6 by Morgan Zacharias-hetesy on behalf of the victim’s mother, Wendy Jessop, described Jesse as “a hardworking man who always had a smile on his face, no matter how big or small the job was.” Jesse Jessop, 26, was working at a construction site when wind caused a concrete wall to fall onto him (COHSN, June 6); co-workers attempted to revive him, but he passed away that evening, the page stated. His funeral took place in Raymond, Alta. on the afternoon of June 10. “It’s really overwhelming, all the lives that Jesse has touched,” Wendy Jessop posted on the page in response to others’ condolences. As of June 16, the page had raised $4,645.
