Niagara police seeking liquor-store robber

LINCOLN, Ont. – The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is investigating the armed robbery of a liquor store in the town of Lincoln. A news release from the NRPS stated that the incident had occurred on the evening of June 27. A man entered an LCBO location at about 7:05 p.m. that day and went up to a cashier under the pretense of making a purchase, police said. The suspect then pulled out a firearm and demanded cash from the clerk; he subsequently removed the cash register from the counter, including all of the money contained in it, and put it into a black bag. The man exited the store and was immediately picked up by a dark-coloured truck with a cap over the cargo bed. The truck then sped away from the store with the suspect, police said. The NRPS posted three surveillance photos of the robbery on its website; the images show a man with a dark complexion, wearing a grey T-shirt, sunglasses and a green Toronto Blue Jays cap. The suspect is believed to be about 40 years old and has been described as between five-feet-ten-inches and six feet tall, police said. No injuries were reported in the incident.
